Fresh and full of flavour. The bittering hop First Gold has been reigned in slightly, to allow the palate space to enjoy a good amount of Crystal and Cara malts with a chunky base of Maris Otter pale malt. Finished with a very delicate floral hop, Saaz.

Cask at the Borough, Lancaster. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head, leaving good lacing. Aroma of light malt, caramel, fruity also with a touch of chocolate and mint. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Thin body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

Draft at the brewery tap. Clear deep golden color, dense white head. Aroma of caramel and black pepper. Taste is peppery toasted caramel, silky mouthfeel. Tasty.

Tried at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. Amber colour with a white head. Aroma is light fruity caramel. Taste light caramel too.

Cask at the borough, Lancaster. Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Aromas of light caramel, not much else. Taste us watery, sweet. Clean finish, but thin.

Cask at the Borough, Lancaster, 01/03/15. Golden amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is caramel malt, biscuit, light fruit vibes. Taste comprises caramel, hint of butterscitch, dark fruit rinds, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with bittering notes. Decent enough bitter.
