This crisp wheat beer has the aroma and flavor of fresh Louisiana blueberries. It’s brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and hopped with German Perle hops, then the juice from local blueberries is added to complement the toasty malt flavor. All our Harvest Series brews are made with the finest Louisiana-grown ingredients.

Bottle. Gold in color. I really like blueberries and they seem to go really well with beer. Nice stuff.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/25/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy pale golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberry, peach, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of blueberries, pale malt, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of lightly juicy/tart blueberries, peach, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy hop bitterness and blueberry tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lightly juicy/tart blueberries, peach, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of blueberries, pale malt, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Clean finishing. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly tangy mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a nice fruited wheat beer. All around nice robustness and balance of blueberries, pale malt, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the ABV. Some nice fruit/malt balance overall, just wish that the huge juicy/tangy fruit character of the nose carried over to the flavors. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle pictured. Smells like blueberry ice cream. Mostly pale yellow. Had high hopes for a gentle civilized hefe-like blueberry drink; but this confirms my stereotype of wheat ales. Near the end the nose goes a little sweet & cloying. Ale’s it is, bitter and a little offensive. Yes, typical wheat ale attitude. It mixes in with the blueberry and the cutting co2, not bad overall, about average for a fruit beer, but it is what it is.

Poured From a 12 oz bottle it is a golden color with a slight head. The aroma is Berry jam and the taste is thin and reminds me of imitation blueberry store bought muffins. Hmmmmmm
