Zuurzing is a farmhouse ale soured with Lactobacillus, which provides a delightfully tart, tangy and crisp, citrusy flavor. We use our proprietary Belgian yeast to ferment this beer, and use a blend of American hops to enhance the citrus notes.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: bright yellow color with some transparency and a finger's worth of white foamy head which quickly dissipated and didn't leave any lace
Aroma: lemon notes, subtle sour; subtle lacto/yogurty; nice tart level with some sweet grass and/or lemongrass
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a sour and tart quality; finishes tart and slightly funky with the lacto parts
Texture: light bodied, leaning into being a sipper due to the sour and tart levels acting fairly assertive; not as much smoothness
Overall: not a bad sour saison, but boy oh boy, it's one you might want some water after this one.

16oz can pours a pale gold with a little haze and some fizzy head that faded fast. Nose has lemon and brine and straw. Lactic. Flavor has a little grist, lemony, some bright salinity. Tart finish but not exceedingly. Basically dry. Funny it's listed as a sour farmhouse ale because it reads basic Berliner.

Sample at the taproom. The beer is a slightly hazy straw-gold color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to a wispy film. Spotty lacing. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, herbal yeast and doughy malt. The finish is mildly tart with a citrusy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Can at home in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours mostly clear yellowish gold with a small, fading white froth topping. Lightly effervescent. The nose has a lot of lemon in it, a little hay, grapefruit. Light sweet flavour, fairly tart and quenching, with minimal bitterness, a little lemon rind, some tangy lemon and lime, a little salty note. Light bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Refreshing finish, with further lemony tartness, hints of passion fruit, rind. Fairly straightforward, but really crisp and quenching.

It’s a slightly hazy yellow. no head. Smells like a lemon crispy piece of bread. Honey and a lot of sour lemon flavor. juicy finish of grapefruit. it’s a lime sort of sour flavor. Nice mouthfeel but leaves a chalky sulphur flavor. more like a berliner than a saison. in fact, a little salty.

16 oz can. Aroma is lemon juice, light pale grain, lactic acid. The flavor is really heavy in the lactobacillus. Super tart with a harsh pucker in the tastebuds. Sharp. The body is light.

I really like this brewery but this sour just really isn’t my kind of thing. Hard for me to enjoy more than 4 oz.
