Bottle from Beerhive. Pours opaque dark brown with a thin, persistent beige head. Aromas of chocolate, leather, light liquorice. Taste is dark chocolate, dark woods. Like I imagine licking a teak sideboard might be, at your grandmothers in the 1980s. Undercurrents of burnt blackberry. Crepe suzette. Blackcurrant and liquorice blended with Cadbury’s chocolate éclairs. That woody thing again. Rich texture, long finish into the black night. Velvety. Firming.

Svart med høyt lys brunt kremete skum. Lukter tuxi hostesaft, salt lakris, ristet brød, kaffe, svart sjokolade, kakaobønner, trevirke og mørke frukter. Fyldig. Smaker salt lakris og soya, mørk sjokolade og espresso. Salt og alkoholvarm avslutning.

330ml Bottle - Black with a small tan head. Coffee, treacle, liquorice and plain chocolate in the aroma. Smooth, roasted and easy to drink taste with coffee, liquorice and roasted malt standing out. Definitely doesn’t taste as strong as it is.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds well roasted malts, dark chocolate, aged and leathery fruits. Medium to heavy sweet flavour, with strong and dense chocolate, some burnt honey, mellow smoke and toffee, raisins, scorched earth, impressions of coffee. Full bodied and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, with more burnt sugars, bittersweet cocoa, earth, dried fruits. Nice depth. Good impy.

33 cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Chocolate, sweet, roasted, bitter. Dark malty and bitter. Subdued sweetness. Roasted and bitter far finish.

Flaska från SB. Kolsvart med ganska lågt krämigt mörkbrunt skum. Stor kraftig doft av rostad malt, kaffe, fudge, choklad, muscovado. Mjuk krämig munkänsla, medelstor beska, sammantaget åt det snällare/drickvänligare hållet. Mycket fina kraftiga kaffesmaker. Allt man kan önska av en IS.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, cacao, chocolate, smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, cacao, alcohol. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20160109]
