A 12 oz bottle in a recent purchase from the good people at Half Time Beverage. Cooled off somewhat and now going inside of a snifter. I see a dark mahogany brown body with a taupe ring of foam. Plenty of carbonation fortunately. The scent is strongly grain, not sure what that is about, some chocolate and a bit of char. The taste is okay, not earth-shaking in the world of imperial stouts. I get coal first, chocolate, scorched grain, a touch of blessed caramel sweetness, berries and malt. Not bad but too much essence of a RIS for my preferences. Just saying

Thin, boozy, a bit roasty. Bourbon, dark chocolate, not much else. Quite straight-forward and maybe lacking on flavor, but what's there is fairly tasty. Nice.
