Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Dark dark brown pour with light tan head. Aroma is cocoa, vanilla, wood, coffee, booze, leather. Taste is similarly complex - wood, dark chocolate and coffee bitterness, booze, dark fruit. Rich but only slightly so. Dark fruit stronger as it warms. Really good.

Cocoa and coffee porter by Buxton, thanks Jan for sharing. Medium thick, yellowish-tinged beige, lacing but dissipating head, very dark mahogany-bronze robe, blackish but still translucent. Aroma of cold black coffee, kahlua, sweet sherry, chocolate sauce, beef stock, candied figs, vanilla beans, marmelade, chestnut. Dried fruits, candied sweetness but not cloying, hint of candied orange peel with a mild sourish touch to it, soft carbo, slick and oily mouthfeel. Peanutty and caramelly maltiness, sweet with bittering toasty edges accentuated by coffee liqueur and bitter cocoa notes embellishing the finish, adding a refined, exotic spiciness that matches well with a gently spicy hop bitter note. Delicate porter of technical perfection, with a slight exotic twist to it.

Drink-in bottle at Thirsty, Cambridge. Almost certainly my last beer out in Cambridge as a Cambridge resident, which is a bit weird. Anyway. Very dark brown, almost black. And almost flat, with a small khaki ring of head. Gentle aroma of coffee, with Ovaltine and a hint of liquorice. Taste is sweet at first but follows up with a hoppy bitterness through to the finish. Some unsweetened coffee sourness in the aftertaste. Not a world-beater but a solid coffee beer.
