Myrtille is a golden sour ale aged in neutral wine barrels. Two pounds per gallon of fresh, whole blueberries contribute an earthy and tannic backbone to this uniquely southern sour. When the time is right, the barrels are blended to achieve the perfect balance of blueberries and house brett culture.

Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Pours hazy deep red with an offwhite head, slight pink tintet. Aroma is rather sour, light sour, yeast, fruity, tart berries, blueberries. Flavor is light sour, light sweet, yeast, fruity, wood, berries, blueberry. Medium body, average carbonation, fruity light acidic finish. Not that sour, but nice and easy to drink. 210117

(Keg at Alus Celle, 20170106) The beer poured deep ruby red and clear. Its head was small thin layer on the top of the beer. Aroma had sourness, tartness and blueberries. Palate was medium bodied and dry with rather high carbonation. Flavours were sourness, tartness, blueberries, wood, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was tart, woody and bitter. A pleasant sour brew that didn’t go to the extremes.
