Oude Purp is a barrel fermented Oud Bruin in the Flemish tradition, blended with young Porter and refermented on an absurd quantity of blackberries. The barrels previously contained high end bourbon and red wine, and the beer was left to mature in them for over three years with native yeasts and bacteria. The final blend includes a small portion of barrel aged Baltic porter as well, and is composed from multiple vintages.
