One of our heritage beers, Yuengling® Lord Chesterfield Ale has as much rich heritage as it does flavor and appeal. Crafted in a unique two-stage European brewing style for enhanced bitterness, it utilizes both conventional kettle hopping and dry hopping after fermentation resulting in a dry sharp finish. Grainy aroma. Golden pour with a medium head and nice lacing. Dry, generic bitter taste, but good. Subtle hop finish. Fairly decent brew and very drinkable, not terribly unique though.

I found this beer to be particularly poor. Skunky aroma, so strong in fact that the others sitting around me could smell it from over 3 feet away. I think I was just expecting a bit more from Yuengling in this beer.

This is my father’s beer of choice, as such I have drank it more than virtually any other beer out there. It has its pluses, like the high alcohol content and the fact that it is better than most macro brews, but it is ultimately a watery beer with not enough flavour. Fortunately, the beer masks the high alcohol pretty well. Little hops and goodness. Who knows, maybe I am just sick of it.

"Coors Light has more flavor than this"S.M.......who is this lord chesterfield??, and can I smack him around a bit?...weak! ps. 5.6% this is the only enjoyable aspect of this brew...

A yellow beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is very sweet and spicy. The flavor is plainly sweet malty and the body thin.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pale golden filtered ale with a fine little head. Very refined hoppy nose and aroma. Must be quality hops in here somewhere. Very soft and mild mouthfeel with a good malty character and a discreet bitterness. Reminds me a bit of Kiwi Lager and Steinlager in my NZ-days.

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a light golden color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma is tangy and has a moderate floral and perfumey hop note. The flavor is lightly sour, bitter, had light perfumey hops and was a bit metallic. The finish is medium length perfumey and bitter. Medium body Ok.

2003 or 2004 bottle (unsure). Pours a golden yellow with tinges of light, soft greens and coppers. Good white head, bubbly but not overly so. Aroma of yeast and hops (lightly spicy, grassy and crisp). Flavor of crisp hops, good balance tending towards slightly bitter, but this one wasnt skunked and though it could use a good deal more sweetness, I did enjoy the fact that I could taste the hops. Carbonation is quite pleasant, this one reminds me a lot of Tsing Tao. I really enjoyed this one. Great thirst quencher.

Yellow, light, and almost no head. Smells cheap & ordinary. Taste is actually decent- crisp and refreshing- finishes bitter. Decent beer for the price!

Pale golden coloured body with a thin white head. Aroma of sugars, hops, light malt and some metal-not that bad! Light-bodied; Flavourful hoppy character with a mild malt finish. Aftertaste shows some metal but also some caster sugar. Overall, a better beer than the traditional lager-good for $1! I sampled this 12 ounce beer purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington, D.C. on 29-December-2003.
