Yuengling Black & Tan models a traditional English Half & Half. Introduced in 1986, Yuengling produced one of the first hand-crafted draft blends to lead this style of American brewing. Black & Tan combines 60% of our popular Dark Brewed Porter and 40% of our Premium Beer to create a brew that is rich and dark in color with hints of caramel and coffee from the dark roasted malts.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is some toasted malt but not much after that. Flavor is a bit of toasted mail and pretty flavorless after that. This has a bit more body that the usual Yuengling but this is pretty flavorless.

From old tasting notes. Labeled as "Yuengling Half & Half Dark Beer". Clear reddish brown color topped by a light brown head. Subtle sweet malt aroma with a touch of graininess. Flavor is sweet toasted malt, but light. Lightly complex and flavorful. Brief sweet malt finish. Light bodied.

Pours a black from a bottle, toffee and toast aroma, similar flavor with a bit of coffee. Good beer.

Can at my parents house. It pours a dark chestnut color with a fizzy light tan head. The aroma has light cocoa powder, caramel, and toast. The flavor is more toasted with hints of cocoa powder, rice and corn adjusts. Light bodied with very light bitterness. Easy to drink. Not bad actually.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is bread, lager yeast. Appearance is dark mahogany with sparkle at edges of the glass, two finger-width foamy beige head with good retention and mild lacing. Taste is light flavor of roasted malts with more overpowering pedestrian lager flavor. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, lively carbonation and abrupt finish. Overall, I was intrigued by the bready aroma and roasted malt flavor but then someone poured a Yuengling lager in it. There might be a decent porter in here somewhere--but this is way more tan than black.
