MD, short for Medianoche Derivation, starts with a grist bill blending elements of both Medianoche and Derivation. Using Medianoche’s extended boil technique, we crafted a full-bodied imperial stout, which we then aged in 15-year-old Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond bourbon barrels and seven-year-old Weller bourbon barrels. These casks lend layers of crème brûlée, hazelnut nougat, and a whisper of cinnamon spice. After an extended rest, we added Madagascar vanilla beans and dark, robust maple syrup, reminiscent of Blend No. 1. Best enjoyed with biscotti in place of your post-meal cappuccino.
