Old Carlsberg Porter has an almost oily-fat filling and appears black with tight mocha colored foam. The taste is sweet with a hint of dry bitterness. The aroma is powerful with notes of licorice root, newly roasted coffee, bitter chocolate and warming alcohol.

An ancient bottle - alledgedly 1950s but label is as shown here on RB. Bottle opened with a pfhhht! Mellow dark malt with a nice chocolate undertone. Slight oxidisation. Dry finish. Very drinkable.

Draught in Bucharest. Pitch black, a slightly sweet stout with very good roasted malt flavor. Rich, thick body and a good balance between malt and hops. Strong hops for the style. Very nice stout.

Bottle: Literally black, medium-sized tanned head, leaving a good lace; sweet malty nose, containing traces of coffee, toffees and walnuts; slightly drier bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; lingering sweet roast-malty and lingering bitter finish. Good and quite well balanced......

Had this sat outside Frank (camper) in Radjberg Mile campsite19-09-08 Pours some burnt roasty malts are noticeable but its actually quite smooth. Enjoyable stout but dry though there is some sweetness kicking about.

(7,4,7,3,15) as carls porter. great aroma, but a little faint. looks very nice, dark brown, light-brown head. Mild flavor, very well balanced, however most flavours quickly ends with leaves a strong trail of roasted stuff. Overall a decent porter, more so when you consider its low price. re-rate , can 8.2% as Gl. Carlsberg porter.pitch dark, smooth large brown head. 4, mild aroma of roasted malts, also milk, almost eggs, kinda weird. 6, Flavor is roasted malts, licorice, there is some bitterness to balance, but it feels a bit weird. in any case quite tasty solid porter.

bottle, traded with jeverszeuge. Very dark brown colour, small but creamy beige head. Complex aroma of malt, roasetd malt and caramel. Very smooth mouthfeel, well-balanced flavours of roasetd malt, caramel, toffee and honey. Just the right sweetness, well rounded with a good portion of aromatic hops. A very nice beer.

330ml bottle at The Carlsberg Visitors Centre, Copenhagen. Ink-black body under a beige, two-finger head. Rather weak in aroma with hints of dark malts. Smoky, dark malts in flavour supported by bittersweet liquorice. A decent porter, I would say (shared with Finn Arvid, 29.05.2008).
