Lagerwine (Barleywine-style Lager) boiled 12 hours for intense natural caramelization and fermented with our house lager yeast for extra crispness and an extra clean fermentation profile. Aged in our temperature controlled American oak lagering foeder for 5 months to smooth any rough edges and remove any trace of alcohol heat. After 5 months in the foeder, we transferred this portion of Abject Terror into a combination of bourbon & port barrels for an additional 12 months of barrel aging. The result is one of the most technically astounding beers we've ever made that's full of saturated oak character, ultra-malty melanoidins, rich caramel & notes of heavily toasted bread crust with plum jam.
