Old Tankard Ale was America’s number two selling American Ale behind another PBC legacy brand, Ballantine, throughout the 1930’s, 40’s & 50’s. Utilizing the original Brewer’s Log recipe from 1937, this historic American Ale will be sure to satisfy today’s Craft centric millennial consumer. Many many cans thanks to joet. Poured a fizzy golden amber color with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma was light caramel malts, sweet malty notes. Flavor was okay, a touch metallic, chemical. Better than other Pabst beers. Did not drink in a tankard. Maybe that was the problem.

We got a free box of this junk apparently for a tasting. Travlr carried it too Alexandria and we were excited for days. Pours amber with ok head and lacing. Tangy mash finish. Tall can thanks to joe t.

Can courtesy of joet, thanks! Clear golden amber color, off white head. Aroma of candied toasted caramel. Taste is malty caramel with a bit of black pepper.

16oz can arrived in the mail from the brewery. Pours out a crisp copper topped with a sand head. Nose is sweet malts toffee notes nutty and some spice. Taste is more of the nutty caramel sweetness this is nice.
