To craft this beer, they started with a smooth Oatmeal Pale Ale base brewed with pumpkin pie filling and pumpkin spices. And they aged it for over a year in bourbon barrels, complementing the rich pastry tones with nuances of vanilla oak.

Every silky, sumptuous sip should cascade with all the decadence of a freshly-baked pie. Look for velvety pumpkin and creamy custard tones swirling throughout with hints of graham cracker crust and golden caramel underneath. A touch of cinnamon and nutmeg ought to blend with notes of brown sugar and barrel spice that linger into the finish.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours clear dark amber with a decent tan head. Aroma is mild pie spice. Med body or so. Fairly dry, spice stands in for bitter. Bourbon is hard to find, but it's present. A bit of oak astringency. Cinnamon is the prominent flavor component. Veg is detectable, but fortunately pretty well submerged in the spice. Flavorful, lean and clean. Or close to that.

Undated bottle (Fall 2025), drunk 11/20/25, as pictured.
Light bourbon, probably a bit more oak than actual bourbon, and mild, fairly-homogenized pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Clean, round, sweet malts adding honey and white bread for balance. No alcohol noted.
Moderate oakiness with only a touch of bourbon richness. Lean, highly attenuated malts with apparent but not obnoxious pumpkin/spice character. Clean and well-constructed, but I think just a bit more malt depth would go a long way here to adding some richness/comfort to the palate.

16.9 oz bottle. Aroma has notes of coconut, bourbon, wood, vanilla, raisin, pumpkin pie spices. Pours hazy orange with a thin collapsing beige head. Taste has a sweet and savory flavor profile with some light bitterness around the edges. Lovely bourbon and restrained pumpkin spice flavors. Somewhat thin and watery and that’s the biggest flaw here. It’s pretty easy to overlook, though, and pretty great overall.
