Taste from a can. Pours a dark, clear, brown color, with a small, tan ring. The aroma is peat, brown sugar, black pepper, and oak. Sweet and malty, with a roasted bitterness. Heavy body, with a harsh, grainy, boozy palate. Solid, if a little aggressive.

Draft pour at the brewery. Poured a dark brown ruby color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light smoked meats, light booze. Light sweet malts, caramel. Not me favorite style unfortunately.

Some lightly smoky peat and a touch of whiskey malt. Pours dark brown without much head. Lift bitter finish. Easy to drink, and well executed for style. Tap at brewery.
