16oz can from HomeBrewStuff. Mahogany pour, filmy beige head with ring. Woody aroma, fruity, yeasty, grapes. Taste is earthy, prunes, yeasty, sweet with a pleasant burn. Not too heavy.

4 oz pour on draft at Spacebar. Dark amber brown with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, berries, light grape. Tastes of dark fruit, licorice, red wine, grapes, light berries. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Not a whole lot going on in this one for me.

750 c&c from Berkeley Bowl West. Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is winey, oaky, malty. Dark fruit. Med + body. Flavor is treacle, oak, dark fruit. Arguably some wine which might be port. It’s not bitter, but it’s not very sweet either. Finishes less than dry tho. I’m thinking these might have been old barrels, because a sort of mustiness is coming out a bit. One heck of an ale in any event.
