Bottle (from Toom Amberg), on the train from Sulzbach Rosenberg to Nuremberg, Bamberg post Xmas jolly day 1 - 24/01/14. Chestnut brown with a good sized light tan head that dissipates a little then retains. Nose is bready malts, dark toffee, light smoke, dark fruits. Taste comprises subtle smoked tones, toffee, malty underpin, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying finish. Solid rausch affair.

Bamberg Bash, Day 1. Train bottle swig. Light haze on this deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish and semi dry. Light malt with mild caramel - toffee. Light lactose. Very mellow smoke. Light dry finish.

Bottle. Fruiity fat malt with a light smoke note. Cloudy red, big golden rocky lace. Pleaseant berrylike fruity notes with a hint smoke and a grassy balance. Light salty on the palate, medium to light body, quite moreish.

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Reddish brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild toasted notes, some nuts, mild raisins and some slight toffee. Flavour is mild roasted coffee, ashes, nuts, toffee and some slight wooden notes too. Pleasantly balanced.

Dark ruby color, small off-white head. Caramelly, toasted, almost burnt malty aroma but not smokey. Light to medium bodied. Toasted, slightly caramelly flavor with some cardboard and papery hops. Aftertaste is nutty caramelly.I can’t trace smoke at all.

Sweetish and very malty aroma with roastiness, bread and rye pudding. Flavour is malty and slightly sweet with syrup. Rather typical dunkel, but good. No signs of rauch.

Draft. A hazy nut-brown beer with a lazing thin brown head. The aroma has notes of brewmash with hints of sulphur, nuts, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of nuts and caramel, but there’s also an acidic and phenolic bite to the tongue - as if it is flawed.
