Time flies as they say, and we have reached the twentieth edition of our boundary pushing Abstrakt series of beers. It is going to be one for the ages too, as we are going to the metaphorical town on AB20. We have brewed a coffee milk English barley wine, and have blended this with an equally stunning barrel-aged imperial stout. So think liquid tiramisu, backed by a rich and decadent layer of warming alcohol. And much more besides.

From tap. Pours hazy amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is chili and toasted malty, sweet and caramelish. Distinct chili. Ligering toasted malty and slight smoked. Dry and toasted finish.

Draft. A red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, fruits, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg at BrewDog Birmingham; clear dark mahogany brown pour with a bubbly beige head, coffee and boozy aroma, taste has chocolate and coffee, some vanilla, quite boozy and sweet.

Keg at the Brewdog AGM, 2016. Pours amber with a thin white head. Aromas of vanilla, toffee, rum. Taste is boozy toffee, more vanilla. Sweet finish.

Keg at BD AGM. It pours deep red - brown with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich, bitter - sweet, toffee, boosty alcohol, treacle, honeycomb, toast, sticky toffee pudding and cocoa. The taste is bitter - sweet, toffee, oily, chewy malt, coffee, wood, alcohol warmth, toasted sugars, dark fruits, fruit cake and sticky toffee pudding with a warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation and sticky mouth - feel. Pretty flavoursome, but also pretty boosty.
