Time flies as they say, and we have reached the twentieth edition of our boundary pushing Abstrakt series of beers. It is going to be one for the ages too, as we are going to the metaphorical town on AB20. We have brewed a coffee milk English barley wine, and have blended this with an equally stunning barrel-aged imperial stout. So think liquid tiramisu, backed by a rich and decadent layer of warming alcohol. And much more besides.

375ml bottle. Very dark deep ruby red colour, no head. Aroma is intense, you smell it as soon as you get the extremely awkward cork out - coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, really nice, sweet tiramisu like scent, some oakiness. Taste is rich and complex, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, raisin, spice. Like a chocolate coffee liqueur. Delicious. Soft carbonation, full bodied.

Sampled from bottle at the Oedipus International Beer Festival 2016. Clear, reddish brown. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, raisins and some oak. Sweet, malty taste of caramel, brown sugar, honey, raisins, vanilla and some oak, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, rather warming finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really nice!

Blend of coffee milk barley wine and BA imp. stout. Why not. 1+1=4 here. Soft, supercreamy, superheavy brown delight. So worth it. An honor.

Clear red-brown beer with absolutely no head. Smells spicy, with earthy malt, fruit and caramel. Taste has many of the same qualities: Caramel, sour fruit, chocolate, vanilla, some zingy citrus, hop, some nuttiness. Airy and spicy in the aftertaste. It’s a tiny bit disappointing it looks so iffy because it tastes great.
