Seasonal Release Series. Marking the return of the World’s Fair after World War II, Expo 58 in Brussels brought inspiration, innovation and pleasure to the people of Belgium. With all the flavor, finesse, smoothness, and subtle clove esters of Belgian-style ales, this beer is our way of emerging from winter’s cold occupation.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent light gold with a slight white head. Light yeast/spice/ester aromas. Med body. Flavor starts with pale malt, somewhat paperish, has a little, but not very much, typical Belgian flavor. Think clove is detectable. It’s a very lightly flavored ale, and might be sessionable, if the lack of flavor isn’t too much of a downer. More after an hour with it: It develops a definite bitterness, and tho the flavor was light in the beginning, it seems to grow with time. So I jumped it a couple of points.
