Brewed in the old-world tradition of Belgian and French Saisons, Heksen & Trollen is a complex farmhouse ale bursting with spice. High-temperature fermentation brings out bold peppery phenols, while timut & sichuam peppers, mustard seeds, and juniper add layers of citrus, floral heat, and herbal intrigue.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy pale gold with good white head. Lovely complex aroma. Lemon and spices. Medium body with good fine carbonation. Unusual and pleasant taste. Starts off with a pleasant citrus taste with some earthy notes. Quickly a bunch of spices erupt on the palate. There’s pepper, juniper and something like cardamom. There’s some pleasant bitterness and a lot of spice in the long finish. Unusual and interesting but maybe a bit too “out there” for me.
