Every ingredient is hand selected, the absolute best we can get, and chosen with only one thing in mind; flavour. And every year when we come to brew and mature it, we build on what we've done before, always refining, always progressing this beer, our apex, our Vanishing Point.
Vanishing Point 09 has been aged in casks previously used to mature whiskies at the renowned Strathclyde Grain Distillery. This marks the first time this imperial stout has matured in grain whisky casks, which are rare and celebrated for producing exceptionally smooth, easy-drinking whiskies.
This year's release delivers a deep and robust character, with layers of dark chocolate and roasted coffee notes, complemented by a velvety smoothness and hints of oak, cherry and coconut. This is truly a beer to savour, but don't blame us if it vanishes quite quickly.

500ml bottle in a box, sold to me by djoeye. Shared at a rating session with Lunde and Finn. Large beige head slowly declining over a ruby black body, dotted spots on the glass. Attractive aromas of smoothly roasted chocolate malts. Fine blended dark malty flavours, moments of both chocolate, nuts and coffee. Oaky. Gently roasted ending, lasting. Well bodied. Very pleasing. Soft whiskey tones and just the right amount of warming alcohol. The taste is quite short though. It's also relatively thin for its 11%. But still, it's quite ok.
