Proximity represents our first imperial stout brew at our new site at Albion Mills. Dark sticky treacle and chocolate flavours are met with a slight roasty character for balance and then bags of muscavado sugar thrown in there for good measure. A medium bodied stout is backed up with sweet boozy notes, lots of dried red fruit and dark toffee flavour.

Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is turf, some biscuits, wood and herbal with chocolate and some herbs. Flavour is chocolate, toffee and toasted tones. Mild nutty elements.

On tap at Pien Shop, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has soft marshmallow upfront, toasted malt, and a touch of vanillin. Flavour is rather thin and lacking depth, with toasted marshmallow, vanilla, and a very weak malt base. There’s really just nothing of value here. Finishes oddly harsh in bitterness and alcohol. Pretty lame.
