THIS BREW TAKES US OUT OF BAVARIA INTO NORTHWESTERN GERMANY, ‘TWIXT THE DUTCH AND DANISH BORDERS. FRIESE -OR FRISIA- IS A REGION WITH ITS OWN ETHNICITIES, LANGUAGES, AND OF COURSE, BEERS! FRISIA IS RENOWNED FOR ITS “FRISIAN BITTER,” A CLEAR, PALE LAGER WITH A GENEROUS HELPING OF DRYING HOPS, BREWED IN THE REGION’S CLEAR, GENTLE WATER. HERE AT WALDMANN, AS IN FRISIA, THE RESULT IS A BEER BURSTING WITH HERBAL BITTERS AND A CLEAN, DRY FINISH.

Sampled from the tap at ABR 2025. Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma is straw forward with a touch of grass and some earthy hay underlying. Flavor has light grass as well but is mainly a combination of straw and earthy hay.
