Inspired by a certain chocolate maker that happens to be 0.6 miles from us, rhymes with Badbury. Rich, full bodied and robust stout with lashings of gooey caramel. Great to be back in the stout game and this is an absolute beaut!

On tap at Plau, Preston. Pours almost black with minimal beige head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts and coffee grounds in the aroma. In the mouth a brief initial sweetness quickly turns to coffee bitterness. Flavour has roasted malts, caramel and alcoholic strength with hints of vanilla and cocoa coming through later. Bitterness lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is decent.
