This northern Arizona favorite has a consistent nutty flavor with just a hint of spice in its depths. A slowly emerging bitterness crops up along the way and is unobtrusively incorporated into the smooth flow. It finishes with a gentle nuttiness and spiciness.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Clear reddish brown with a beige head. Sweet cocoa aroma with a nutty whiff. Medium body with notes of nuts and sweet roasted malts. The finish is dry with a subdued bitterness. 220608

My first wiff was of walnuts, with some caramel, cocoa, and coffee, showing up a few seconds later. One of the best smelling beers I’ve rated; Dark brown with cherry accents and a ring of beige bubbles around the sides of the glass; Flavor tastes more like a brown ale, smooth with caramelly malts and coffee, and a little hop finish; not as good as the Rogue, but pretty good!

Bottled, rated from 2001 notes. I had this at Rod's Steak House in Williams, AZ on our Rt. 66 trip. It impressed me as having a very complex earthy and chocolate palate which overcame an initial grassy note. It was a good choice for a local beer to match with Rod's steak.
