They say “close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades”, but this beer is a ringer. Tremendously popular with the locals and definitely staff favorite, this special ale showcases a complex malt profile featuring 7 different types of malts and a unique hop character comprised of Chinook and Amarillo hops.

Bomber - American ESB, huh? - clear light amber - frothy head that quickly shrinks to a moderate, soapy lace - nose is malt-forward, with notes of caramel, rye, bread - some earthy, woody hops underneath - moderate carbonation - medium body - flavors of toasted bread, light caramel - some moderate grain husk through the middle - hops arrive in the finish with some moderate earthiness, pepper, pine - not a bad beer, despite a handful of off notes, but not all that much like an ESB.

Tap @ Crazy Mountain. Pours a clear, dark golden appearance with a tan head. Toasty malty, lightly nutty, earthy aroma. Chewy caramel, lightly orange citrusy, a bit tangy flavor. Bleh.
