Regionally grown American pale malt is blended with rich European malts to produce a lighter bodied beer, bright in color, with a taught white head that keeps track of time as you sip. Then there are the hops – four pounds per barrel to be exact. Willamettes, Cascades, CTZ and Summits give this brew a citrus punch and spicy character that greets you in the nose and embraces your mouth with a clean, crisp bitterness.

Canned at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy pale orange colour, small coarse head. Salty papaya aroma. Mid sweet with light-medium body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Some papaya, otherwise sharp and barren. Metallic finish.

Pretty good beer although I would say that the hoppy bitterness is more similar to an IPA. Flavor’s also quite dry. Aroma is hoppy and perfumy with a little bit of malt.

From a can at Minneapolis Marriott City Center. Pours dark gold (or light amber), clear, with a fine white head. Aroma is predominantly grapefruit, as mentioned on the can. Body is medium, sticky and astringent, with average carbonation. Taste has marked bitterness, practically no sweetness. The bitterness sticks around in the finish as well.

12 ounce can courtesy of Hoff43. Thanks! Indeed Day Tripper Pale Ale. Clear orange, large foamy tan head, decent retention. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus hops. The taste is caramel malt, toast, citrus hops. Medium bodies, moderate lingering bitterness.

This was on tap and poured into a mug.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange to amber color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. A light stringy lacing settles around the glass.
The smell had a sweet and lightly spiced semi-peppery aroma running under a sweet maltiness.
The taste pretty much copied the smell and carried a slight spice into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and good for the style and for me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty nice APA that I would definitely have again.
