Regionally grown American pale malt is blended with rich European malts to produce a lighter bodied beer, bright in color, with a taught white head that keeps track of time as you sip. Then there are the hops – four pounds per barrel to be exact. Willamettes, Cascades, CTZ and Summits give this brew a citrus punch and spicy character that greets you in the nose and embraces your mouth with a clean, crisp bitterness.

12 oz. can, thanks to TheHOFF43. Pours orange, with a small head. The aroma is rye, floral hops, straw, resin, and light cardamon. Sweet, with a mild hop bitterness, and savory spice. Leaves a pretty unpleasant, bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body, acidic, and very astringent. Overall, this is a nice, aromatic pale ale, but the flavor, especially the aftertaste, is lacking.

Intense pine and caramel nose, subtle rosehip note. Cloudy amber, thick head, good lacing. Lemon and pine flavor, whole orange at midpalate, finishes with grapefruit peel and lemongrass. Light body, slightly tangy, considerably bitter. Superb balance and intensity, full of nuance. I could totally rate this higher, but I feel like I’m getting carried away. I wish I could get this more often.

Can shared at CBC Islington during the Ryan Tasting - big thanks to Ryan for this one! Great balance here. Dry citrus, restrained pale malt sweetness. Super fresh and drinkable. I could easily sink a few of these.

12 ounce can. Pours a fairly hazy orange color with a medium white head. A nice bursting orange and tangerine nose. Very smooth and flavorful: rich citrus, lemons, bitter orange peel, some light biscuit, a bit of bitterness but more smooth fruit. This is a damn good Pale, what a turn, now we have a few world class lower gravity brews like this coming out. Zombie Dust still rules them all, but this is excellent. I could drink a few liters.
