Damm’s first Märzenbier was created in 1953. In the early years, it was only brewed between October and April and wasn’t made for the rest of the year. In 1955, as it had become a great success, it was decided to brew the Märzenbier all year round. It was given the name Voll-Damm. “Voll” in German means full, complete. The name suited a strong, intense and full-bodied beer. During cooking we add Nugget, Magnum and Taurus variety hops, which are responsible for the characteristic bitterness of Voll-Damm.

330ml can from a grocery store in Barcelona, Spain. Pours a crystal clear amber-gold color with an off-white head and very good retention. Good lacing. Malty aroma. Malty flavor too with a faint caramel note and a slightly boozy finish. Tastes like a very smooth malt liquor. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Not bitter. Okay, but disappointing for a Marzen.

Pours clear amber/light brown, with an orangey tint. Thin white head formed of big bubbles. It's a joy to watch them burst and disappear. There is definitely a commercial side to this beer, as neither its aroma, nor its flavor struck me as something special or extraordinary. Has a pleasant malty-caramellike finish.

A honest and industrial beer, not great but it is drinkable and it was perfect with a good meat and in family. This beverage is sweet and smooth, toffee, malty, not the impression to have 7.2%, extract of hop, 13.08.21, at the restaurant Milonga's Sevilla, Nervión.

Can, 7.2%. Metallic and malty aroma. Clear light copper colour. Creamy stable whitish head. The flavour is a bit sweet in the beginning, but mellows out. Good spicy aroma hop. Fairly clean bitterness. Caramelly sweetness. 636316

25 cl bottle bought in Portugal. Dark golden with minimal froth.Malty flavour and not that sweet for a beer with 7,2. Actually it’s an overall pleasant beer if drunk cold enough. Btw can someone enlighten me why this beer is not listed as a Marzen?According to the own commercial description they see it as a Mazen "Las Märzenbier, como Voll-Damm, son la estrella de esta fiesta que se ha convertido en el acontecimiento cervecero más importante del mundo."

Bottiglia.
