Northern Native American tribes believed that the Red Fox was a wise and noble messenger. Other tribes saw her as a dangerous prankster. Foxy Red IPA is a bit of both. This sly girl creeps out of her den when the night air gets just a little chill and the Autumn leaves begin to turn. Don’t be fooled by the color as Centennial & Columbus hops, bursting with their piney and fruity resins, combine with this rich, red ale to create a perfect balance of juicy hops and bready malt to usher you gently into the colder months. This seasonal IPA won’t be around long, so catch her if you can.

Cask at Max's, with Sorachi Ace. Pours a hazy-ish, amber color, with a frothy, bubbly, off-white head. The nose is green banana, rose, coriander, and pine sap. Sweet and sugary, with a mild, resinous bitterness. Light, slick, and thin. Good aromatics, but weak and thin.

Reddish pour from can. Lots if citrus and pine. Syrupy malts. Ok at best....

Slightly opales chestnut colour with ruby notes, moderate sized ecru-ish lacing; aroma and taste of marmalade, orange, rye bready, fruity and some resiny notes; good one

Crisp and fairly hazy deep ruby and light brown coloured body with a nice two centimetre tall off-white and tan head. Aroma of deeper toasted malts, some graininess, a lot of sugars from caramel and toffee and a subdued bitterness from hops, but the other notes show stronger in the nose. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and very rustic, toasted malt notes show at first with a lot of bitterness from some metallic notes, but then the lighter alpha acids from the hops show through with some grassy and herbal notes as well, but the finish is nice from the malts with a light dose of sugars from caramel and the toasted grain. Aftertaste shows a nice balance of deeper, earthier malts with some light hops that do have some bitterness here, but they are both tempered by some light sugars, especially noticeable at the end. Overall, a pretty nice and dry, very grainy, rustic and toasty malt beer with some good balance of hops and bitterness and a soft sweetness throughout that hits the balance nicely and leaves a good layer of all the flavours here for the duration. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from The Perfect Pour in ElkRidge, Maryland on 28-November-2016 for US$2,69 sampled at my condo here in Washington in Spring 2017.

Pretty regular old hoppy red ale and theres nothing wrong with that! Reddish copper, good citrus hop nose and resiny flavors. Med bitter finish.

Can, from the source. Pours clear amber-red with large foamy beige head, faint caramel aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter caramel taste with resin flavor, smooth body, long resinous finish. Very smooth and satifying.

Can. Clear copper with a slightly off white head. Aroma of pine, citrus and some bready malt. The flavor is firmly bitter with a dry finish. Ok, but I prefer a more juicy hop flavor and a more balanced overall profile.
