Hardywood Rum Pumpkin combines the nostalgic flavors and aromas of autumn with a soul warming, blackstrap molasses laced finish that can only be achieved through months of maturation in Caribbean dark rum barrels. Pleasantly mellow up front with a crescendo of pumpkin pie spice giving way to subtly sweet, lingering brown sugar and spiced rum notes, this beer might just bring new meaning to Thanksgiving.

Holy Jesus Christ and Donald trump’s ego. Fuck that is sweet and strong. Thank god I have cheesy pretzels to combat that.

12 ounce bottle. Label says 12.3% ABV. Amber orange color. Frothy white head. Earthy, malty, spicy aroma hints at cinnamon, clove and rum. Flavor offers a rich, malty experience. Notes of brown sugar, rum, wood, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Tasty.

750 ml corked and caged. Aroma is boozy, clove, nutmeg, pumpkin, woody. Pours hazy copper with a quickly collapsing off-white head. Taste is sweet and spicy with flavors of rum, pumpkin pie. A little thin and watery. A little too boozy and thin for me.

Last pumpkin beer of the season for me. Hope you’re having a Happy Halloween! Hardywood Rum Barrel Pumpkin 12.3% 21 IBU Apparently made with Caribbean dark rum barrels, yum. Nice dark orange-brown with little foam which is expected from a BA beer. Big spice cinnamon and allspice but almost medicinal with sweet raisins notes. Very boozy and lots of heat with dark syrupy fruits, spice and medicine. Think port with your medicine on a cold winter day. Interesting and pretty good but I think even more aging might be better.

Medium golden amber color. It’s funny I wasn’t going to order this as their pumpkin Saison didn’t impress that much but I love rum and I heard this is fairly rum forward. Fairly is the biggest understatement ever. I am actually trying to find beer and pumpkin character in the nose. This is like if King Kong Bundy’s belly was a barrel of rum and he jumped off the top ropes and landed on your face type of wallop. Oh and the oak is huge too. Finally as it warms a bit I get fennel, cloves and cinnamon. This is much less of a Saison than a pumpkin barrel aged beer. Fairly malty, bigger carbonation than needs to be. Dry finish with massive rum and oak and the spices finally poke out. Much better than the regular pumpkin Saison. The body is malitier, heavier, sweeter and this is focused on the spices and barrel and not funkiness and driness that clash with the pumpkin character. Shows great depth as it warms. Ultimtely I loved this --- Beer merged from original tick of Rum Barrel Pumpkin on 18 Mar 2024 at 11:26 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7.5 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 7. Original review text: medium amber color. Nice spiced nose with some rum and oak. Full body but not super complex. It’s not bad.
