Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pitch black pour with a dense creamy tan head, aroma has sweet chocolate and blueberry, taste has chocolate fudge brownies, with blueberry’s on top, big viscous body, hints of coffee, bitter chocolate, I like really sweet impies.

330ml bottle, initially shared with my Belgian father-in-law who promptly gave me his half ("I don’t want chocolate I want a beer!"). Pours dark with deep tan head. Aroma is blueberries, chocolate, brownies and Baileys cream. Taste is thick, smooth, unctuous and doesn’t feel like it should be drunk by the glass. I’d happily drizzle it over a chocolate cake, but feels rather indulgent and rich to be consumed on its own. A bit heavy-going.

Tap at Beers’n’more 2 anniversary. Pours pitch black with little head. Aroma of a fruit cake freshly taken out of the oven. Super sweet berries, and that doughiness that you expect from a cake. Clear 10. This cake is super heavy on the tongue, stays fruity and punchy. Less enjoyable than the aroma, but still a benchmark. Doughy spices, more fruit in the palate. Hides the boozes surprisingly well, I mostly notice it through the heaviness but not actual flavours. Nice.

Bottles from Bottle Baron. Black body with a thin tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of raspberry, dark chocolate and blueberry. Flavour of chocolate ice-cream, berries with a hint of black pepper. Full body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. An outstanding Imperial Stout - ridiculously drinkable for the ABV. Even better than Fallen’s Big Raspberry Dog Chew.

Bogtle @ Mikkeller, Aarhus. Huge head with excellent suration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich blueberries, chocolate, cake, malt, hops, caramel and has an excellent sweet finish.

At BBF, opaque black color, aroma liquor filled chocolate, cheese cake and dark cherries, lots of chocolate in flavor with fruity and Greenish notes with coffee and vanila in the back, very sweet But mellow. Nice.

Keg at Hoplocker, South Bank, 14/10/16. Pitch black with a dirty tan swirl. Nose carries a big sweet waft, candy bar, sweet blueberries, malts, chocolate gateaux, light spice. Taste comprises chocolate cake, sweet licks, blueberry cheesecake, light minerality. Full bodied, light cloying edge, sweet curtain call with warming alcohol that provides respite from the chill autumn afternoon. Decent enough and fun to try impy stoot but to sweet and lacking overall balance to make me waht to come back. Drinkabilty is a little low for this Bois.
