Dark wheat has a bold, dark color that surprises the drinker with a mild clean flavor. This beer is a black version of an American Wheat, with some locally malted corn added for a drier, more drinkable, local flavor. Germans would consider this a beer an American version of a Dunkel Weizen.

Refrigerated can, from queenholly, poured into a weizen glass. Dark brown with big light brown head. Aroma is banana, medium body, medium/light carbonation, creamy texture, and little lacing. Taste is dark malt, chocolate, coffee, hints of banana. If I drank this blindly I would guess coffee stout, but has subtle dunkelweizen characteristics. Thanks for another state tick queenholly.

Can. A- Cocoa, wheat, spices, roasty, leather. A- Black color, solid liquid, tan head. T- Wheat, cocoa, toast, medium bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- I had high hopes for this and was more than let down. The flavors just did not work together and it was unbalanced. Simply off-tasting. Looks nice though.

Can. Roasty malt, light chocolate aroma - rather porterish. Mahogany with a large tan head. Chocolate and light coffee malt - reminds me a little bit of creamy CoCo Wheats. Medium creamy body, soft carbonation. Very nice.

Can: Pours dark cola, with a huge, reversing dark head.....nice looking pour. Aroma of chocolate, roast, wheat. Flavour is malty...chocolate, cream, wheat... Wonderful.

Can. Chocolate and wheat malt aroma. Dark chestnut brown with large tan head. Sweet milk chocolate and wheat malt flavor. Nice body. Excellent - basically a top of the line dunkel/porter.

12oz can-trade with heemer77-rich tan head that dissipates-mahogany. A-sweet cocoa/molasses-med malt. T-cocoa/molasses-med malt, biting character front to midpalate. As it fades, some ashy comes in.

Tap @ Thunderhead. Pours a deep brown appearance with a brown head. Dark chocolate, light coffee, a touch fruity aroma. Light toffee, toasty malty, chocolate flavor with a hint of banana. A bit thin. I was a little disappointed with this one.
