While we brew plenty of modern hoppy beers around here, we're also secretly huge fans of hoppier beers of years past. One we've been itching to whip up is more of an English style pale ale - malt forward, low carb, and hopped with classic varieties. In comes Puddles - brewed solely with our favorite Maris Otter malt and then hopped with some of the best East Kent Goldings we could get our hands on. Puddles rolls in with waves of malty, honey goodness, balanced by a firm pop of hops on the palate. No, this isn't our usual fruity/juicy haze, but instead it's herbal and earthy, with hints of citrus. Lavender, honey, graham crackers, hints of bergamot and strong black tea. The perfect pint for this time of year.
