Yellow colour with light haze and fluffy head. Aroma and flavour do have the herbal almost savoury rosemary. A little too overpowering but qualitatively good.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy blond colour, white foam. Lots and lots of carbonation, way too much. Nose of perfume, rosemary, flowers, very light vinous notes. Lemony and citrussy. Not very bad but way too much carbonation.

Cette dégustation de ce Nouveau Riche a été des plus intéressants. Il faut dire qu’en intégrant Romarin et avec maturation en fût de Brunello rouge, on pouvait être à la fois curieux et craintif du résultat. Sur le romarin, celui-ci est particulièrement bien dosé et intégré, et donne un petit plus à la bière indéniable. Pour la maturation en fût, je craignais un côté barrique et vineux trop prononcé tuant les arômes. Pas du tout. Et la brasserie DDVK a du s’en méfier également avec un passage en barrique qui doit être rapide, mais pour le coup un peu trop rapide ! En effet les arômes de raisin et de fût sont vraiment très voire trop ténus. Ces arômes restent cependant en arrière-plan, telle une mélodie indicible que l’on sait présente sans réellement s’exprimer. J’attendais un peu mieux de l’équilibre pour cette brasserie qui a un grand savoir-faire. L’alcool, à 6 % est un peu limite tout de même. Pour une blanche, on est tout de même largement au-dessus de la moyenne pour une bière qui est agréable (qui pourrait être même très agréables pour ceux qui apprécient le genre). En verre, nous sommes sur un blond doré avec une mousse crémeuse qui la recouvre. C’est le romarin qui ressort nettement du nez avec un arrière-plan des arômes de raisin et de fût complétant bien l’ensemble. L’attaque présente une petite acidité qui personnellement ne m’a pas particulièrement plu, avec des arômes fleuris et de romarin et en second plan des arômes de barriques discrets alliés à du miel et du biscuit. La deuxième bouche est un peu plus ample sur des arômes relativement linéaires. L’arrière bouche est quant à elle décevante, moins aromatique et manquant d’ampleur. Le final est également quelque peu instable mais sur une bonne complexité et une bonne longueur et avec un romarin plus expressif et accompagné de notes herbacées. En résumé, idée très intéressante, bière originale, agréable, réalisation perfectible.

Hazy ochre, orange hue, with a lasting, big, collapsing, foamy, white head; lots of lacing. Strong aroma of buckwheat, rosemary, thyme, multigrain bread, mandarin peel, orange & lemon zest, sourdough, clove, white grape, 'woody vanilla'. Taste is light fruity sweet, orange & mandarin, and light wheaty sour, a bit lemony with bitter, clove-like touches; white grape in there as well, a bit hoppy & woody. Dry, floral & grassy hoppy finish, lingering wheat, wood, fruit peel. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Truly delivers, marvelous Witbier.

33cl Bottle from Drinks&Gifts. Hazy dark golden colour, white head. Aroma of rosemary, bordering on cardamom or sage, some vanilla, not much wine present here, wheat. Flavour follows, quite spicy, rosemary but not in the hearty pizza way, sage, vanilla, wheat, soft bitterness. Light bodied. Nice.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours a misty yellow, high floral spice on the nose. Taste presents a high spice content verging on Fantome levels, some pleasant floral elements, lots of rosemary with underlying sweet yeast, fairly high carbonation. Not detecting much in the way of red wine influence unfortunately, but for a highly spiced floral wit it's not looking too shabby.

Clear orange beer, big rocky creamy dense solid yellowish head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: caramel, malty, some vanilla, some citrus, bit fruity, banana notes, herbal, little yeasty. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter touch, yeast, fruity notes, some banana, citrus, spicy and herbal notes. Aftertaste: fruity, bit sweet, caramel, bitter, spicy, herbal, some banana, sweetish, bitter, some tannins.

330 ml. bottle @ Beerlovers Bar. Sparkling golden, huge collapsing. Nose is rosemary, faint gin spice, kitchen spices, soapy, bit milky,… Milky soapy fizzy part of it is not top but rosemary is nice with sweet pizza dough, finish is low dry red oxidized wine – the Brunelo. Well done, base could be bit better, bit too milky but still new & good stuff.

Pours unclear blonde. Médium whte head. Smell is spiced, but in balance. Taste is well balanced, interesting spicy note, tad sweet. Very gentle, refined ale. Barrels give good complexity.
