From Bottle: Draft magazine's top 25 beers in the world for 2013! A wild and sour session IPA. Brewed with three heavily fruity hops, coriander, and tangerine zest the profile is definitely American in focus. Aged in French oak chardonnay barrels with soaring lactobacillus, funky Brettanomyces yeast, and dry hopped in each individual barrel. This beer is a definite wow moment,

37,5 cl bottle @ home
Aroma has strong bretta tartness and fruit candy in the background. Flavour has tart citron, grapefruit, bretta tones and hints of cereal-style malt. Also mild gastric acid tones. A bit too tart to be completely enjoyable. Indeed no signs of 100 IBU, sourness overrides it I guess.

Taste is sourish, tartish and grassy with some bretta, wood, oak, fruits, vinous notes and hops. Finish is tartish and sourish with hints of bretta, spices, oak, fruits and hops. Interesting, quite sour and tart.

Just reading all of the stats and specs on this beer was convincing to say the least. What a fascinating beer, even before trying it. Draft 12 oz pour at Brouwers. Rating #1999. A year that reminds me of Austin Powers every time I think of it. Awesome tap handle/ bottle by the way. Dark orange pour with a mountain of foam head. Aroma Isa semi sweet and sour orange fruit, which is a fragrance I would pay for in itself. I love these hybrid styles. Has its hop profile, but complimented by a sweet peach, tropical fruit, and a solid sour backbone. So easy to drink. Lingering palate of sweet tropical fruit and hop bitterness. Standout beer for sure. Excellent stuff.

From a 355ml bottle on 27/12/2015 (part of an early Xmas pack from the better half). Pours a murky dark golden with pretty much no head - lots of yeasty stuff settling on the bottom. The aroma is fruity, with some mild sour and zesty notes. In the mouth, there’ lots of puckering sour - lots of grapefruit, tangerine and lemon, with some orange and mandarin sweetness evident. While certainly hidden by the sour, you do get some hops, even if it will never be mistaken for a hop monster. The palate is slick and the carbonation prickly. This is actually a very good, nicely balanced sour beer - complex and refreshing. Wild/sour beers are not really my thing, so my rating is intended to represent some quite high praise.

Location: 12.7 oz bottle from Whole Foods Bowery, 12/22/15
Aroma: More funky than it is hoppy, brett, lacto, tart fruit / lime, white wine, and spice notes
Appearance: Pours an unclear orange color with a fizzy head and some light lacing
Flavor: The flavor is a little funky, nicely tart / sour, with the spice and fruity notes on the finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, zero wateriness, tingly feel, and a somewhat dry close
Overall Impression: Love the Office Space theme, if you took this beer away from me and moved my desk to the basement I don't think I'd set the building on fire, but it is pretty good. Also, I'd be really pissed to be working in the basement. I certainly prefer this to Duality's Boston Stapler beer because it doesn't bind up as much.
