1970s dessert in a bottle. We took the luscious combination of sweet and sour cherries, rich cacao and smooth vanilla, then aged it in a blend of Cognac and Ruby Port barrels. Spirit warmth and oak. Deep, jammy red fruit flavours. Cherry and chocolate. Opulent and nostalgic, elevated with new layers of complexity

Dark black pour, tiny tan head. Cream, cherries, cocoa/chocolate, cognac, port - black forest cake in a glass. Enjoyed it.

Appearance is oily black and slick, no head. Aroma is fudge cake, blackcurrant, earthy malt, cocoa, treacle toffee, coffee, chocolate cake, tiramisu, boozy malt, cherry hints, port wine. Can smell it a way away. Taste is sweet cherry and blackcurrant, earthy malt, espresso, dark chocolate, red wine, oaky hints, port, vanilla whisky, sweet dark fruit, cocoa powder, dark rum, toffee malt, sticky caramel. Sweet and complex, definitely a sipper.

Bottle at kermis tasting. Black with small head. Cinnamon, cocao, porto, dusty, Chocolate, earthy. Vanilla. Very sweet, light bitter. Full bodied.

375ml bottle from Left Field Beer, Solihull. The aroma is roasty, light aromatic. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet, with a smooth, rich, oily, coconut, red berry fruit, marzipan, liquorice bitter palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

Zwart zonder schuim. Geur: zoetig, zurig, boozy, kokos (?). Retronasaal: vrij boozy, zoetig, (rood) fruitig/zurig. Smaak is vrij zoet, alcohol, vleugje fruitzuur. Dikke body. Smaak blijft hangen.

37cl Fles, sample bij Kerst/NY tasting Zaandam. Zwarte kleur, dunne beige kraag. Medium zoet, gebrande mout, pure chocolade met lichtzure kersen, marsepein, koffie, rozijntjes, cognac, mooi gelaagd bier. Volle body. Lekker.
