Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, bottled December 15, 2015 poured into a glass. Black with small small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is chocolate, dark malt, and some anise. Pretty heavy.

Very dark brown coloured body with a rich, creamy glow and a nice, three centimetre tall off-white pale head. Aroma of cream, lactose, earth, roasted malt, nuts, pitted fruits and a bit of grapes. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours up front with vanilla, figs, earth and milk all coming through, then some alcohol burn to finish off the taste. Aftertaste shows a very rich and creamy, milky flavour with vanilla, oak, nuts, earth and tons of roasted malt bitterness fills the palate. Overall, a good beer, not great, that’s acceptable for the style - very rich flavour and a deep bitterness coupled with the alcohol that adds to the complexity. Nice to try, especially on tap for very cheap. I sampled this thirty two ounce growler fill from Whole Foods in Fairfax (Fair Lakes) , Virginia on 11-February-2016 for US$5,30 sampled a day later on 12-February-2016.

Bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours thick and black with a small brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, light smoke, licorice, and coffee. Taste is smoked peat, chocolate, caramel malt, coffee. Tasty!

Draft. Deep ruby brown color, tan head. Aroma of prunes, chocolate. Taste has caramel, cocoa, light coffee. Tasty.

Draft. Pours dark brown. Nose and taste of roast chocolate malt, vanilla and sweet chocolate. Medium body to full.
