An American IPA hopped with criminal disregard. Featuring generous additions of Cascade, Chinook, and Mandarina hops, followed by hints of Munich malt, Ponzi’s aroma writes checks that its flavor cashes. If it seems too good to be true, you’re probably drinking Ponzi.

At the source: pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma is citrus and biscuit. Taste is fairly bitter. Plenty of sharp citrus and resin. Some aftertaste. Not bad.

Rich deep bronze coloured body with an orange glow and a thick, four centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, dank hops and some nice malt. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy, herbal and citrusey hops with a nicely balanced malt backbone and some great citrus elements. Aftertaste shows a nice balance of citrus, malt and hops with an emphasis on the hoppier side of things, which shows well. Aftertaste is relatively balanced with a lot of citrus elements, a good hop flavour of grass and herbs and a light bit of sugars evident. Overall, a very nice East Coast IPA that is well balanced and a relatively easy drinker, but showing some complexities. I sampled this twelve ounce can while on the Potomac for a Mother’s Day Picnic on 08-May-2016 after purchasing it at Whole Foods in Washington (Eye Street NorthWest, Foggy Bottom) a few minutes prior on 08-May-2016 for US$2,49

32oz growler from Dominion Wine and Beer, pours a murky, deep gold with some frothy white head. Nose has a lot of dried citrus, soap, herbs, some cardboard, a little dusty couch. Flavor is the same, a little cardboard and couch, grass, straw, lemon, herbs. Dry finish, bitter. Not the best.
