Cask at Archie's, Aberdeen. It pours clear deep/dark brown with a thick, fluffy khaki head. The aroma is earthy roasted malt, charred, burning embers, smokey, tar barrel, toasted brown bed and charred vibes. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, charred, umami, smoked meats, honey glazed ham, burning embers, toasted brown bread, light umami, dark roast, touch of chocolate, leather a touch for tannin with a smooth, smokey finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy cask carbonation. Rounded, flavourful and moreish. Very nice.
