Bottle. Rich brown in color, under a light head. Noticeable alcohol smell. Definite touch of oak in the taste. Nice roasty ale malts with a sour tinge on top of caramel sweetness. Despite the nose, actually doesn’t taste too alcoholic.
Re-rate, March 13, 08. I think I may have originally rated this a few points even above my enthusiastic standards. But still this is an interesting beer. A solid brown malt base that does leave room for impressions from the portion that’s been BA’ed. Definitely something to check.

kp’s Fest of 26 Clear, dark brown pour, with a fleeting off-white head. Complex malt aroma with some subdued bourbon notes. Flavor that follows the aroma. Bourbon is not overpowering in this one. Not your everyday brown ale though.

Bottle from Bodega in La Crosse. Dark amber/brown color with a medium off-white head. Good lacing throughout. Aroma of bourbon, malt and nuts. Medium body with an earthy texture, and the bourbon aging is apparent throughout. Malty, nutty flavors as well. The finish is nutty also with a light alcohol burn left behind. Good all around.
