Eichenbock is a deep, malt-forward lager brewed in admiration of Bavarian tradition and patience. Mashed with a blend of Weyermann Munich I & Munich II, Pilsner, and Caramunich malts, it was double decocted to draw out layers of rich bread crust, toffee, and dark honey. Gently hopped with Magnum and Grüngeist, then laid to rest in oak barrels in our walk-in cooler for ten weeks of slow and cold maturation. The time in wood lends a subtle vanilla warmth and round oak tannins, mellowing its smooth, malty heart.

Can from Tavour. Pours ruddy amber with a large foamy beige/tan head. Aroma has dark fruit and smoke. Med body or so. Malty but not heavily sweet. Somewhat bitter. Flavor is dark fruit, smoke and oak/wood. Supposedly smoke isn't in it, but I perceive something making me think smoke.
