OATMEAL STOUT collaboration with IRRELEVANT BEER
A smooth and mysterious Oatmeal Stout for the dark times.
Our friends at Irrelevant Beer in Vancouver, Washington have fully embraced the dark side of the beverage industry. We’ve brewed this nighttime oatmeal stout together to celebrate the darkness. As we soar toward the Winter Solstice, December in the Pacific Northwest is ruled by night. But we’re not missing the grey and sunless days - We Are the Night.
Hops: Willamette
Malts: 2Row, Golden Naked Oats, Victory Malt, Pale Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Black Prinz, Flaked Oats
“We are the night ocean filled with glints of light. We are the space between the fish and the moon...”

On tap at Chuck’s Greenwood, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma has soft toasted malt, earthiness, and some dry breadiness. Flavour is dry, with dry, hearty oats, and toasted malt. Not much malt depth but clean and inoffensive. It’s okay.

16oz can from New Seasons Market. Dark brown pour, thin layer of beige head. Roasty aroma, dark chocolate, coffee notes. Taste is bitter, roasty, mildly sweet, dark chocolate. Light bitterness lingers.
