A beer you want by your side, letting out a sigh of relief when you arrive at your destination. That was the image behind the creation of this beer, 'EXCURSION.' When imagining a beer to enjoy under the open sky, the beer style that came to mind was XPA. Known as the abbreviation for Extra Pale Ale, XPA is said to have originated in Australia. Its characteristics include a lighter, drier malt flavor compared to Pale Ale, while having a lower alcohol content than IPA. Though hops are used abundantly, they are balanced with the body of the beer, making it easy to drink—a beer that could be described as taking the best of both Pale Ale and IPA. Such a beer suits the Australian climate perfectly. For 'EXCURSION,' we created it with less bitterness than an IPA but still full of hops, allowing the aroma to be fully enjoyed. Visually, it has a pale straw color known as straw color. Dominant aromas suggest citrus and pine nuances. In the mouth, the modest yet taut malt flavor supports the moderate bitterness of the hops. From the depths of the aroma, the distinct taste of New Zealand hops emerges, with hints of lime and white wine. The aftertaste carries a pleasant hop bitterness. Its dry finish keeps it from becoming tiresome to drink. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself finishing a whole glass with another sip. This beer achieves a balance of solid flavor and drinkability. Carrying a beer like this in your bag for a trip is a delightful idea. So, where would you take this beer?
