Keg at the brewpub, Asheville, 17/02/15. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is pine, grapefruit, earthy hops, biscuit, hint of charring. Taste comprises earthy hop characteristics, cocoa rub, dark berry fruits, pine needle, light roasted notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Respectable enough CDA.

12 ounce bottle from Grapes & Grains, Clemmons. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of citrus and herbal hops, roast and chocolate. The taste is mild roasted malts and citrus hops with some caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fair balance but flavors could be a bit bolder, slight lingering bitterness.
