Inoculated rather than spontaneously fermented then racked off onto Central Otago cherries for a secondary ferment in stainless. Deep purple with a fast dissipating head, aromas are funky sweet with oak, tobacco and fruti. Tart but not sour, with a full cherry falvour and a pleasant lingering woody finish.

Deep red beer, faint brownish sheen, with a fine, pinkish white rim. Fruit, red berries, felt, almost insectoid; sharp vines, wild wine, vanillewhiff. Vanilla-raspberries, wild raspberries and wild grapes, tart. Finish is sweeter. Overall there is weird wild flavour as from pelts from recently shot venison, and quite unlike the lambic aromas from Brettanomyces. Completely unsettling beer, and yet a must try. Many txs to Joren and the Kiwi beerspecialist that recommended the purchase.
