For the 2024 vintage, the brewers start with a long fermentation on a high gravity wort for a big and burly base. Then they aged it for one year in port barrels and an additional year in cognac and rye whiskey barrels to really develop an exquisite cask character.

375ml @ Ryan's shared with Phill.
Aroma: caramel, bold, sweet, just a bir of alcohol.
Taste: along the same lines, very malty, some booze, black tea, a bit of herbal bitterness.
Overall: kinda a refined malty liquor, enjoyable.

Poured from 375mL bottle. Clear amber orange with very minimal white head. A bit sticky and a touch thin, boozy underlay with some port and cognac notes, but don't really pick up the rye whiskey, seems a bit muted, on par with my experience with Drake beers generally - slightly underwhelming. Appreciate it more as it warms - began with a 3.6/5, move it up to 3.8/5, and finally finished at a 4.0/5.
