Long Trail Ale® is a full-bodied amber ale brewed with our top fermenting house yeast that yields a clean, complex flavor.
Our flagship brew has weaved its way into the Vermont landscape and become as much a Green Mountain tradition as the 273 miles of the Long Trail itself. Plenty has changed since the first batch rolled off the line, but one thing remains constant, Long Trail Ale’s® presence at ski hills, cookouts and get-togethers all over the East Coast.

Crystal clear amber in the glass. Burnt oat flavor is pretty weak all around. Rated 4/16/10

I suppose I expect too much from the beers I drink now, but this is still decent. Not too much flavor, maybe overcarbonated, but its actually nice once in awhile not to have a beer thats overbearing in flavor or abv. I realize how I sound, making excuses, but I do like this one as a session beer.

Bottle courtesy of MaltDawg on 06/27/2009. Bottled in 04/2009. Clear golden amber body with a medium frothy off-white head. Sweet honey and pale malt aroma with some grassy hops. Sweet caramel, honey, and pale malt flavor, some faint hoppy notes, slight metallic notes. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle thanks to mar. Pours with a hazy amber body and a small white head. Aroma of honey, and biscuity. Taste is husky with honey and a large CO2 presence. Watery and highly carbonated.

Pours orange-amber into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to skim surface. Caramel malt aromas. Sweet caramel upfront, crisp and dry in the finish.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright ruby-caramel color with a large orange-tan head. The aroma was sour, tangy and malty but not particularly noteworthy. The flavor was sour, bitter and tangy with a light fruity undertone and a hint of caramel. The finish was rather short. Basic.

Bottle. Pour is a reddish copper with tons of carbonation and a large but quickly fading head. Aromas are mostly caramel malt with a little bit of light fruit. Flavor is not really watery, but not really full, either. Malty sweetness is pleasant, but that’s about all I’m picking up. Nice, but simple.

Very nice clean yeasty aroma turns slightly fruity and perfumy in the glass. Slightly darker than the ubiquitous pale lager but just as clear. Meollow flavor that wants to come on strong but does not. Godd tingly carbonation and its welcomed. After the session continues, there is a medium light building hops falvor. Nice enjoyable hint of fruit in there too. Has some hop presence without being offensive nor over the top. Very enjoyable beer, glad I got to try this. Finish is nice and friendly, hides alky well. Surprizingly pleasing.
